Parishes

Every parish has information about their village and church. New residents and visitors can find churchwarden(s) contact details, their church location, together with a map and access information within the 'New to ...' pages. Forthcoming events are also provided where applicable in some parishes.  Events listed in the Parish Magazine are also noted in the Benefice Calendar.

The individual parishes enjoy very different characteristics, which are celebrated and thereby contribute to the strength, depth and breadth of the wider benefice. These ten parishes are just a small number in the Deanery of Rutland, part of the Diocese of Peterborough. Each Parish is proud of its history stretching back to the Middle Ages with the churches reflecting the changes in architecture and are well cared for by the people.

The parishes lie along the Southern sides of the Rutland Water reservoir. At the furthermost Eastern end are Empingham and Whitwell, on the A606, the main road between Stamford and Oakham. At the Western tip of the benefice are Preston and Ridlington, just 2-3 miles from the small market town of Uppingham.
