Viral Bibles on the loose!
There are 200 Bibles on the loose. During 2011, at Christian festivals across the UK, 200 limited edition Bibles are being released, courtesy of Hodder Publishing.
At each festival week, ten different-coloured Bibles will be let loose into the crowd. If you receive a Viral Bible, simply highlight your most meaningful passage,
fill in your details online and pass it on.
Each Bible has a unique code, so you can follow its adventures and be inspired by the verses and stories that others share. The Bibles will travel the length and breadth of the UK - and hopefully throughout Europe and the rest of the world.
It is hoped that the 200 Bibles will be passed from hand to hand, connecting friends and strangers. The Viral Bible Project is part of Biblefresh, a movement of over 100 organisations, helping the church engage with the Bible in new and creative ways.

New Footsteps in Preston
March saw the start of our new group meeting called 'Footsteps in Faith' and we came together on Tuesday evenings in the village hall, Preston to discuss our faith
in Christ and the implications this has for each of us in our daily life. Taking passages from the New Testament we looked at Jesus' call to the first disciples,
ordinary people from the community, with the meaning and implications discipleship has for us all, and we enjoyed both serious discussion and laughter, as we shared
in the fellowship of the evening together. We hope to 'grow' our group, welcoming all from our parishes within the Benefice, and after an Easter break, we will be
starting a new topic, which is currently being planned for the summer, which is intended to run for approximately six sessions. For more details, use our

Empingham - Churchyard headstone drawings by Empingham W.I.
In 1981, Empingham Women's Institute documented and created a book of drawings of the headstones of St Peter's Church at Empingham. We have now digitised
this and put the contents online under the Empingham Parish Pages. The original is kept safely in the Parish.

HOW MANY LOAVES HAVE YOU?'
On 4th March we held the annual World Women's Day of Prayer service in North Luffenham church. Celebrated all over the world in more than 170 countries. It is
held each year on the first Friday in March and this year it was prepared by the Christian women of Chile. Maureen Jones gave a reflection on the theme
"How many loaves have you?" This inspiring theme was interwoven with her personal experience and well received. This ecumenical service is organised by Christian
women in North Luffenham with input from other villages in the benefice. Come and join us next year when Malaysian women prepare the service.. - Grant Daft

The Empingham Church Council decided at the beginning of last year to experiment with the use of a nave altar positioned between the pulpit and organ
rather than using the altar at the East end of the chancel. See what the purpose is on the Empingham Parish page.
